The harvest year of 2015 will not be forgotten soon as it was the beginning of a three year extreme drought for the state of California. With very little winter rain and a completely dry spring, the vines were growing early and with very little fruit.  Additional frost conditions and awkward heat and winds during the flowering stage of growth made for a very unbalanced crop. Our decision to further thin the crop to create uniformity was difficult to make but absolutely necessary.  The end result was far less production than normal but a wine that has depth, concentration, and complexity and holds true to the signature of our Zuidema Grenache.
